We Get Mail

Brad Smith from the Granada Hills South Neighborhood Council writes us:

If you are interested, the Granada Hills South Neighborhood Council is hosting a forum for the applicants to manage Valley Regional High School No. 4 (aka Hospital High, aka Balboa High) this month; it will be from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Granada Pavilion, 11128 Balboa Blvd. (behind Trader Joe's). All the applicants - including LAUSD District 1 amd Granada Hills Charter - have been invited to make their presentations and answer questions from the community.

Remember, this is a $100 million facility with a $10 million annual operating budget, and the responsibility for educating 1200 9-12th graders from the current attendance areas for Granada Hills, Monroe, Kennedy, and Cleveland high schools.

If you have school age children or grandchildren locally, or even if you'd just like to have some input on how this school will be run, please attend. The deadline for the applicants' submittals to the board of education is Dec. 1 and they have to provide public outreach information as part of their respective applications.

Best,

Brad Smith
Granada Hills South Neighborhood Council

Thanks for the heads-up, Brad!
