ziggy reads to an enraptured audience. oh, the kids liked him, too.

Ziggy Marley and Paul Frank's Julius the Monkey paid a visit to Book Soup yesterday. In conjunction with his U.R.G.E. (Unlimited Resources Giving Enlightenment) Foundation, Ziggy is out promoting "Only In Dreams", Paul Frank's first children's book featuring his beloved monkey, Julius.

After reading, Ziggy picked up his guitar and delighted us with songs from his new children's album scheduled for release next year. Ziggy will be heading to the studio next week to start recording. We were treated to two new songs that he had never performed in public before!

Is it me, or is Ziggy totally adorable?! Yes! Yes! Yes!

All of the proceeds from "Only In Dreams" will be donated to First Book, a non-profit organization that champions children’s literacy. We picked up a copy for our library at home and read it for bedtime last night; it's already a favorite!

No worries -- we picked up a copy for the Beckford Library, autographed to Beckford from Ziggy!

Funnest thought of the day: There was a mom there with a little baby in a stroller. The baby's name was Marley; this seemed to tickle Ziggy. Now don't get me wrong, it was a cute baby, but all I could think was:

Pfft... Marley Spoor-Stevens is waaaaaay cuter.

Trust!Marley Spoor-Stevens
